Kevin Youkilis just finished playing catch as Derek Lowe came running by and screaming “Youk”. The two spoke briefly and Lowe wished Youkilis a speady recovery from his injury.

The lineup, which may take on the wrath of the Fenway crowd as well as the Cleveland Indians.

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Fenway Park.”

The Boston Red Sox will host the Cleveland Indians today. The public address system will be silent in tribute to Carl Beane, who passed away yesterday. The batting order, which will go announced in Fenway Park, will be Sweeney, Pedroia, Ortiz, Gonzalez, Middlebrooks, Nava, Aviles, Byrd and Shoppach. Daniel Nava, who was batting .316 in 95 at bats with Triple-A Pawtucket, was called up today and will play in his first game with the Red Sox this year. Josh Beckett, who reportedly played golf last week despite missing a start due to a sore lat, will make his scheduled start today.

Middlebrooks is back in the lineup

Boston Red Sox prospect Will Middlerooks, who according to a CSNNE interview with GM Ben Cherington will not remain the starting third baseman when Kevin Youkilis returns,  has been dealing with a tight left hamstring since the weekend and left Tuesday’s game in the second inning. He is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Ryan Sweeney also rejoin the Red Sox lineup after a couple days off.  Jon Lester will take the mound for the Boston, which has won just one game this month.
